San Francisco Beautiful was founded in 1947 by the 'Cable Car Lady' Friedel Klussmann who saved these city treasures from being dismantled. Since then, SFB has given out Beautification Awards and Neighborhood Improvement Grants and has worked on Civic Initiatives that help to create, enhance and protect the unique beauty and livability of San Francisco.
